Alpine Retreat

The Alpine Retreat project introduces a commercial skiing resort located in the breathtaking alpine landscape of Verbier, Switzerland. This project embraces a modern Scandinavian architectural style, blending contemporary design with natural elements to create a serene and harmonious environment. The resort is designed to seamlessly integrate with the mountainous terrain, maximizing natural light and offering stunning panoramic views.

The primary focus of the design was to adapt the building to the natural contours of the mountains while ensuring abundant natural light throughout the interior spaces. Large, strategically placed windows and glass walls allow sunlight to flood the interiors, creating bright and inviting spaces that also offer spectacular views of the surrounding alpine scenery. The use of clean lines and minimalist design principles typical of Scandinavian architecture enhances the sense of calm and connection with nature.

The resort employs a combination of wood, glass, concrete, and steel to achieve both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity. Locally sourced wood is prominently used throughout the design, from exterior facades to interior finishes, emphasizing sustainability and reducing the environmental footprint. This choice of materials not only ensures a cohesive aesthetic that resonates with the natural environment but also supports local industries and promotes eco-friendly construction practices.
